Formula One Right in Your Palm
One of Sony Europe's big hitters for the PSP offers a bag of features, looks ace.
There is no videogame platform that seems more perfectly suited to the sleek and outrageously fast cars of Formula One than Sony's equally alluring PSP. So it's no surprise that an official Formula One game is already in the works to hit stores around the same time as the PSP itself.
As you would expect, Formula One will feature all the official cars and tracks from the most recent season. What's more interesting is that the game also allows you to use a custom soundtrack uploaded to the PSP from a Memory Stick Duo.
And while the gameplay may tilt towards the more arcade-like portion of the spectrum, the depth of the gameplay modes should make up for this. The various modes allow you to do everything from tackle a single track of your choice to racing an entire F1 season.
Long-time F1 fans are catered to by the scenario mode, which puts you in memorable situations from the glory days of the sport.
The PSP's WiFi capabilities will also be put to good use. In addition to wireless multiplayer for up to eight people, players will also be able to download grid positions and qualifying times from the real-life grands prix on race weekends.
Formula One is set for release on PSP in May 2005.
