Need For Speed Takes Xmas Top Spot
EA's blockbuster nicks the number one.
After a year filled with some of the best games of recent memory, Need For Speed Underground 2 has come out on top as the official Christmas Number One in the UK.
It wasn't easy for the game though, which has been up against strong opposition throughout the last months of the year from the likes of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and FIFA 2005.
Ladbrokes and the Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) have been following the scrap for the past few months, with Need For Speed Underground 2 finishing as its 6/4 odds-on favourite to take the top spot in the last week before Christmas.
The rest of the week's top ten sellers look almost identical to last week, with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas coming in at second and Call Of Duty: Finest Hour close behind in third.
Here is the full top Christmas top ten, according to Chart Track and ELSPA.
- Need For Speed: Underground 2 (EA)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar)
- Call Of Duty: Finest Hour (Activision)
- The Incredibles (THQ)

- Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within (Ubisoft)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Konami)
