Ubisoft Brings Fear to the Sea
New third-person action game takes you to sea onboard a rocking Russian boat - hurrah!
Being cold and wet is never a good thing. Throw in a bloodstained whaling ship and monstrous enemies and you've got the formula for one horrific ride - or at least Ubisoft hopes it does.
Cold Fear is a new third-person action game for PC and home consoles that takes you out onto the open sea onboard a rocking Russian boat. As lead character Tom Hansen, you and your US Coast Guard teammates are sent to check out an abandoned Russian ship afloat in the Arctic Ocean.
And the ocean is more than just a backdrop - as the ship rocks back and forth you'll be able to lure enemies into traps that send them plummeting to their deaths. The ship is constantly beaten by the wind and waves too, making simple movement through environments a more challenging affair.
Enemies run the gamut from mobsters to mad scientists, and developer Darkworks is promising a truly frightening experience featuring plenty of the red stuff.
Cold Fear will be released for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC in March in North America with a European release to follow.
