Touch Dracula in Castlevania DS
It's the sequel to GBA's Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow - first details and screen of Castlevania for DS inside.
With all the hubbub surrounding the PSP over the past weeks, it's easy to forget that Nintendo also has a new handheld out vying for people's attention. One of the most anticipated games coming to the Nintendo DS is the pragmatically titled Castlevania DS.
According to an interview with the game's creator, Koji Igarashi, in US magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly, Castlevania DS will be a direct sequel to the previous Game Boy Advance series instalment Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow.
Castlevania DS resumes the story with lead character Soma Cruz preparing to thwart baddie Celia Fortner's cult. Gameplay will be reminiscent of the Game Boy Advance title, with some additions to better use the Nintendo DS' unique capabilities.
The Enemy Soul system returns in expanded form, allowing you to assume all manner of skills, and you'll be able to swap Enemy Souls with other players wirelessly.
For the most part, the game will only use the Nintendo DS' buttons, but the touch screen will be used occasionally, such as at the crest of boss battles where you'll need to draw magic seals to vanquish your foe. While the lower screen will be used to show the action, the upper will have a map and display status information.
Castlevania DS is set for release some time this autumn.
