Nintendo Announces 2005 Plans
Plans for titles coming this year.
The Nintendo DS has only been on sale for just under two months, but it's already a hit. According to Nintendo, more than 1.3 million people in North America alone have picked up the dual-screened handheld since its debut on 21 November.
Nintendo is keen to keep this momentum going, with big games, including WarioWare: Touched! and Yoshi Touch & Go, set for release soon. And then there's the release of the Nintendo DS in Europe, which should happen by the end of March.
The company is about more than just the Nintendo DS, though. Despite the release of the more powerful new handheld and the imminent announcement of Nintendo's new home console, Revolution, Game Boy Advance and GameCube owners can still look forward to 2005.
Altogether 180 games are planned for release on the two older platforms, with the bulk of those winding up on the Game Boy Advance.
And while the GameCube may have seen its best years, forthcoming games such as Legend Of Zelda (sometimes referred to as Zelda 2005) and Resident Evil 4 are sure to keep the boxy console kicking for a bit yet.
