More Xbox Destruction in Otogi 2
An update before our imminent full review.
There's something about wanton destruction that appeals to the Neanderthal in all of us. Games have a long history of coaxing out our inner club-wielder and few games have done it as well as Sega's Otogi for Xbox.
Sparked by what it calls a "recent resurgence in martial arts movies", Sega has decided that now is the time to release the game's sequel, Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors, which was originally released in Japan in late 2003.
In the game, you play as Raikoh, legendary warrior and hero of the first instalment. After defeating the baddies in Otogi, Raikoh is brought back into the fray by the sorceress Seimei who wants to counter the rising evil in the land.
What really matters, though, is that destruction is back in a big way. Almost every part of the game's nuanced environments is yours for the breaking - all of which is lovingly splattered across the screen using dazzling visual effects.
Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors will be released exclusively on Xbox in February. Our review is going live any day now, the reviews department shouts at us.
