EA Bashes Heads in Rugby 2005
Underway in Canada for a srping launch.
Rugby is a divisive sport - seen by some as a graceful dance on the grass-covered stages of the world and by others as an excuse for 30 men to smack that crap out of each other for 80 minutes.
One thing is clear, though, rugby video games are getting much better. One of the companies involved in recreating the rucks and runs is EA, which has recently announced Rugby 2005 for PC and home consoles.
Rugby 2005 will build on last year's instalment by tightening gameplay and sprucing up the graphics. Purists will be pleased to hear that all the major leagues and tournaments have been recreated, including the Tri-Nations and Super 12 events.
The game will include all manner of exhibition and career modes featuring the real players and real teams from around the world. And if you've never been able to wrap your brain around the whole 'pass backwards' concept, then the training mode is the place for you.
Rugby 2005 will be released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 this spring.
