Worms Squirm into Another Sequel
Codemasters takes the series to its roots.
Your average garden worm can, with any luck, live for as long as eight years. Worms, the video game, has easily surpassed that. To celebrate the series' 10th anniversary, the original creators at Team 17 are back with more of the frenzied action and humour the titles have become known for.
Eschewing the genre shift seen in Worms: Forts Under Siege, Worms 4: Mayhem yanks the series back to where it came from. The game will contain 20 completely destructible levels set in five disparate worlds. Of course, singleplayer is only half the fun and Worms 4: Mayhem will also contain 4-person multiplayer on all the singleplayer maps and 20 more designed just for multiplayer.
One of the best parts of the Worms series has always been its kooky repertoire of weapons, many of which are returning. There are also several new weapons, including the bizarre Bovine Blitz, which rains cows down on your opponent.
If that sounds too staid, though, you'll also be able to create your own weapons.

Worms 4: Mayhem will be released for PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 some time this spring.
