Namco In With the New, In With the Old
Play 20-year-old games on your brand new PSP.
Even though the PSP has only been on sale in Japan for just over a month now and it has yet to launch in either North America or Europe, it will soon have some old games - really old games.
Pac-Man creator Namco is working on a collection of old and re-imagined arcade titles for Sony's new handheld. Namco Museum contains faithful recreations of several decades-old favourites, including Pac-Man, Ms Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaxian, Galaga and Rally-X.
The collection will actually mark the second time that Rally-X has appeared on the PSP, as the game can be found as a playable extra on Namco's PSP driving game Ridge Racers.
Four of the older games have also been reworked to look like something more befitting of the powerful handheld. The collection will contain new takes on Pac-Man, Rally-X, Dig Dug and Galaga. These new versions also include better music and added multiplayer features to accompany the bumped visuals.
So far, Namco Museum for PSP has only been confirmed for release in Japan, but Japanese versions of the game will work on European PSPs, should you feel the urge to import.
