Night of the Videogame Dead
Kuju tapped to make zombie-rrific tie-in.
It isn't easy being labelled the 'Master of Gore' in today's risk-averse mainstream society, but George A. Romero gladly accepts the moniker. The celebrated horror movie director has created some of the seminal films of the genre, including Night Of The Living Dead and the endlessly remade Dawn Of The Dead, and now he's bringing his unique take on the life-deprived to the video game arena.
Surrey-based developer Kuju Entertainment has been tipped to create the first of a series of games based on Romero's rich history in film.
"Our spines are tingling in anticipation. George A Romero is recognised as one of the leading directors in the horror world," said Kuju's Ian Baverstock.
"We're excited to be translating the zombies and terror created in George's imagination into an atmospheric gorefest for game players."
And while it doesn't even have a title yet, Kuju said that the game, which is being developed for home consoles and PC, should be in stores by the end of March 2006.
