Stave Off WWIII in Flashpoint Germany
All that stands between the world and nightmarish nuclear annihilation is you.
The political upheaval of the past three years is almost enough to make you forget that during the decades after the Second World War mankind teetered on the brink of annihilation.
As David Heath, director of operations at Matrix Games, puts it: "The Cold War marked a 45-year period during which the smallest wrong step could have led to worldwide disaster."
What better setting then for Flashpoint Germany, a military simulation game for PC where you have to make sure that the world doesn't head straight for the apocalypse.
"Flashpoint Germany takes tactical war gaming to a place rarely ventured to by game companies," says Heath.
Based in, what was then called, West Germany, the game uses hundreds of recreated weapons, vehicles and units to provide a nightmarish scenario of what could have been. Everything from troops to nuclear warheads are available for you to map out the fate of the planet.
Flashpoint Germany will be available to amateur warmongers via download from www.matrixgames.com or in stores later this month for PC only.
