UK Gamers Feed Their Need For Speed
EA's racer makes it nine in a row.
Another week has come and gone and still Need For Speed Underground 2 remains at the top of the UK video games sales chart. EA's racing-cum-lifestyle game has now held the No 1 position for nine weeks in a row - the longest run of any game since 2000.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and The Simpsons: Hit & Run retain their now-regular positions just behind while most of the rest of the games in the top 10 played a game of musical chairs. Only Sonic Heroes managed to sidle back into the top 10, at the expense of Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age.
Here are the top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 22 January as determined by Chart Track:
- Need For Speed: Underground 2 (EA)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar)
- The Simpsons: Hit & Run (VU Games)
- The Incredibles (THQ)
- FIFA 2005 (EA)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Konami)
- Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within (Ubisoft)
- Football Manager 2005 (Sega)
- Sonic Heroes (Sega)
- Call Of Duty: Finest Hour (Activision)
