EA Adds SNES Classic to Fight Night Sequel
Nintendo continues its campaign of maximum exposure.
The introduction of the analogue stick opened up new worlds to sports games and one of the most recent examples of control-scheme revamping has been in boxing. EA's Fight Night Round 2 keeps the intuitive control scheme introduced last year, but there's going to be something for fans of the old button-pressing strategy as well.
EA and Nintendo have decided to include the Super Nintendo version of Super Punch Out!! in the GameCube instalment of the pugilism simulator. In addition to the 30 real-life boxers, gamers will also be able to play as Little Mac, Super Punch Out!!'s lead character.
"We grew up as fans of the Punch Out!! series that delivered hands down the best boxing gaming experience of its time," said Kudo Tsunoda, executive producer of the game at EA.
"Now we're offering Nintendo GameCube gamers double the boxing excitement with one of the best sports titles of the past as well as the most realistic and knuckle-clenching boxing game of today."
Fight Night Round 2 will hit GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox on 11 March.
