MotoGP 3 Adds Online Modes
New longer tracks coming too.
Online play over Xbox Live tends to be deathmatches or other head-to-head competitions, but it can also be much more. UK-based developer Climax has revealed three new online modes it is building into MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3.
The first, embedded mode, allows you to play through the single-player mode as usual. At the start of each race, though, you'll be given the option of playing against online opponents instead of computer-controlled racers. And to keep things fair, Climax is using a ranking system that encourages you to race against people of similar skill levels.
The two other modes are spectator mode and commentator mode. As the names suggest, these new modes allow you to simply watch a race driven by other online players unfold in front of you, with the latter mode allowing you to provide live commentary as the race progresses.
And it's not just online play that's getting a boost. Climax is latching on to the popularity of long-course races by including 16 new tracks based in cities and urban areas from across the world. The developers are also adding more than a dozen new superbikes.
MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 will be released for Xbox and PC this summer.
