Snake Eater Secrets Revealed
Konami delivers on its promises for Europe.
Swapping urban constructions for verdant jungles, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater marks a significant departure for the series.
In addition to the 1960s setting and new gameplay concepts, such as the close-quarters hand-to-hand combat system and the emphasis on camouflage, the European version of the game will also contain four special features not found in either the Japanese or American releases, as a 'thank you' from publisher Konami to European gamers for sticking it out until March.
The previously revealed Duel Mode allows you to go up against just the game's menagerie of end-of-stage bosses, while the Demo Theatre lets you go through all the in-game movie sequences again, to brush up on the plots intricate undulations.
Perfectionists and masochists alike are catered for by the new European Extreme difficulty setting, which demands near-perfection from would-be spies.
Those looking for a bit more fun will find two extra levels in the Snake Vs Monkey mode, in which you go man-to-monkey in special levels, while trying to capture the adorable simians from Sony's Ape Escape series.
After being released late last year in North America and Japan, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will finally hit stores in Europe at the beginning of March.
