Give the Nintendo DS a Rub Yourself
Test drive the new handheld before its March release.
The Nintendo DS is a radically different piece of videogame hardware. The dual-screen handheld comes with a touch-sensitive screen that can be used with either a stylus or Nintendo's thumb-pad, as well as an integrated microphone and wireless Internet capabilities. And while all of this lends itself to innovative game design, gamer confusion and customer hesitation are not unlikely.
To stem this, Nintendo will be touring the UK in the weeks before and after the handheld's release on 11 March to show gamers exactly what the Nintendo DS is capable of.
The tour will make stops in shopping centres, game stores and cinemas across the UK over the next five weeks. A full list of all tour stops can be found at Nintendo's Touch Me Here site.
Those living off the tour route will still be able to get a feel for the console. Nintendo is planning to push thousands of demo units into retail stores across the country.
The Nintendo DS will be released in the UK on 11 March for £99.
