Take to the Skies With the Energy Airforce
Taito gives realistic flight the college try.
Since the dawn of electronic entertainment, gamers have been striving to get airborne and the graphics revolutions of the past few years have only heightened this air-lust. Atari will be doing its part to sate that hunger with a flight sim of its own - Energy Airforce: Aim Strike!
The emphasis of the game is realism and to this end the developers at Taito have worked out a deal with defence contractor Lockheed Martin to include official versions of its combat aircraft in the game.
You start off the game with just one plane, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, but, by completing various licence tests, you'll be able to increase your fleet in quick time.
Unlike several other console flight games, you'll be in control of the plane from take-off to landing. Not everyone wants to manage every conceivable aspect of flying, though, so the game includes an Arcade mode too.
Energy Airforce: Aim Strike! will be released on PlayStation 2 on 18 February.
