Share Games Wirelessly With Your PSP
But only some simple ones for now.
While the wireless connection on the PSP allows gamers to enjoy multiplayer gaming without wires, it has been revealed that you'll also be able to use the connection to share games.
The PSP supports a mode called Game Sharing, which allows a PSP with a game to share it with another PSP. At first, this will probably be limited to simple games. Indeed, Namco has confirmed that several of the minigames in its recently announced Namco Museum game for PSP will be playable via Game Sharing.
Namco Museum contains both the original and remade versions of several of the prodigious Japanese publisher's most classic games, including Pac Man, Rally X and Dig Dug. With Game Sharing, someone with a PSP will be able to download, for example, Rally X from a PSP with Namco Museum to play on their PSP. The downloaded game is kept in the system's RAM and will not be permanently stored, though, and it is lost once the PSP is turned off.
And while it's a neat feature, Sony's Game Sharing is not unique. The Nintendo DS already includes this feature in several of its games and the company intends to expand it to include downloading games from in-store kiosks and more.
