Ubisoft Exposes Rainbow Six Operatives
The latest in the popular anti-terrorist series is almost here. All new screenshots inside.
The Rainbow Six franchise has been around for seven years now - and it keeps going from strength to strength. In March, Ubisoft will release the latest Rainbow Six instalment, which takes the basic premise of the series and upends it.
In Rainbow Six: Lockdown, the world-renowned counter terrorist group Team Rainbow finds itself under attack by ideological terrorists determined to wipe out Third World problems by striking out at the First World.
The colourful cadre of skilled and hardened Special Forces operatives from previous Rainbow Six games is back, but this time they're fighting for their lives and the lives of their friends.
The game is in development for PlayStation 2 and Xbox by Red Storm Entertainment, the series' creators, and Ubisoft Montreal, the team responsible for the Splinter Cell games and the recently rejuvenated Prince of Persia.
A PC release of the newest Rainbow Six is also planned, but it will not come out alongside the console versions. Instead, it will hit shops later in the year with new PC-exclusive features added.
Rainbow Six: Lockdown will be released in the UK on 25 March. In the meantime, take a look at these new PlayStation 2 shots.
