New Castlevania: Curse of Darkness Screens
Dracula's not showing up this time, but his house is.
There's little new information out of the Castlevania camp at the moment, but publisher Konami is still out to impress with a fresh helping of screenshots - and some fantastic art - that show off Castlevania: Curse of Darkness in action on PlayStation 2.
The Castlevania series has made a few 3D appearances since its debut back in 1986 but these have never quite garnered the acclaim its more traditional 2D counterparts have. The reality of the industry right now means that 3D is the way to go, a sentiment echoed by the series' lead producer, Koji Igarashi.
But Konami is committed to giving gamers something new this time, which is where the Innocent Devils come in. These are allies you can summon during the game to help you in battles and grant you special powers.
And although the game won't star Dracula, it does take place in the ruins of his castle.
Castlevania: Curse Of Darkness is set for release on PlayStation 2 in Europe this autumn.
