Sega's Condemned in Next Generation
And it's due to arrive within the next year.
Like an unstoppable force, the next generation of hardware is rapidly approaching and Sega has announced that it will be there from day one with Condemned - a game the company describes as a "suspense-filled, first-person psychological thriller".
The premise for the game, which is being developed by US-based Monolith, is at once simple and enticing. You play as Ethan Thomas, a member of the Serial Crimes Unit at the FBI, and you're on the trail of vicious serial killers.
And though gameplay specifics are currently scarce, Samantha Ryan, CEO of Monolith, says the game will "combine a disturbing atmosphere with realistic physics, devious AI and a sophisticated combat system".
Sega's predicted launch date also tacitly confirms what the hardware companies have avoided being too open about - the next generation will kick off within the coming year. The company has announced that Condemned will hit next generation consoles and PC during winter 2005.
