Midways Adds More Suffering
Blood-splattered thriller coming for another stint.
Prison is never a good place to be, let alone twice, but Midway wants to take you there again later this year with a console and PC sequel to its well-received action-cum-horror title The Suffering.
The Suffering: The Ties That Bind picks up the story where the original ended. Lead character Torque finds himself on the streets and in detention facilities around Baltimore while on the trail of a shadowy figure involved with the death of his family.
The developers at Surreal Software are being coy with specifics, but its clear that they intend to draw parallels between the jails Torque finds himself in and the sociological tethers that hold back the downtrodden all around us.
Midway says that players will "explore the tough inner-city, with poverty and urban injustices trapping people just as effectively as a physical prison".
The Suffering: The Ties That Bind is coming for Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC and should be in shops this autumn.
