Grand Theft Auto Crosses 12m Mark
And other news from Take Two's quarterly report.
It's big, scary, violent and, according to some reactionaries, partly responsible for the downfall of humanity, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is also one of the best-selling video games of all time.
According to the latest financial report from Take Two, parent company of Rockstar, worldwide sales of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas now stand at 12 million, just five months after it launched in October. The game is also coming to PC and Xbox this summer, which should result in more of the same - if sales of previous Grand Theft Auto games on Xbox are anything to go by.
But the real game to watch for is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City for PSP, which has been confirmed for release this summer too. Few details are known at the moment, other than that it takes place in the same city as the game that rejuvenated the series, Grand Theft Auto III.
The report also mentions that Rockstar is planning to release an as-yet-unnamed console title this autumn. No specifics are known at this point, but the timing does leave open the possibility of a Xenon launch title.
