'Fable 1.5' Confirmed: Coming to Windows
Microsoft announces 'Fable: The Lost Chapters' for PC, confirming Kikizo's revelation in September - first details and screens inside.
Microsoft's US office today announced a PC-only update to Fable, a project that has been in development since before the completion of the smash-hit Peter Molyneux RPG for Xbox, which had previously gone under the name 'Fable 1.5' inside Lionhead Studios.
Confirming Kikizo's exclusive report from September 2004, which revealed the existence of the follow-up and suggested it might be the long-rumoured PC version of the epic title, the new update is called Fable: The Lost Chapters and is scheduled for release this fall.
The Lost Chapters will feature a host of enhancements, including new quests to conquer, areas to explore, creatures to slay and story elements to discover. The game will be fully optimized for the Windows platform, complete with expanded content, greater customization, new quests and enhanced graphics.
As many readers will already know, the concept behind the game is that every action determines a character’s skills, appearance and morality. A character’s life story is created from childhood through adulthood and on to old age. One can grow from an inexperienced child into the most powerful being in the world, spoken of by all and immortalized in legend.
We'll bring you more on Fable: The Lost Chapters as it becomes available - in the meantime check out these screens from the forthcoming PC title. To see what we made of the Xbox version, check out our full review here.
