Brian Lara Returns to the Virtual Crease
Legendary batsman returns to the videogame cricket arena for the first time in five years. Grassy new screens included.
As the last days of winter march slowly by, it's easy to forget about all the summer niceties. When it does arrive, though, you won't have to leave your house for a game of cricket. Codemasters is working on Brian Lara International Cricket, which carries the West Indian cricket star's full blessing as well as that of the International Cricket Council.
The game will include full 16-man line-ups from all of the current ICC one-day international teams as well as faithfully recreated stadiums from around the world. All the major match types are supported too, including one-day games, tests and recreations of historic matches too.
In addition to the singleplayer game, Brian Lara International Cricket also has drop-in-drop-out 4-player multiplayer, meaning that up to three friends can join you for a spell at any point.
Brian Lara International Cricket will be released for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox this summer.
