NCSoft Bringing Auto Assault to PC
First details and screens for MMORPG giant's new post-apocalyptic vehicular carnage game.
Nuclear war doesn't sound like an inviting prospect and if the Mad Max movies have taught us anything it's that the aftermath won't be much better. But that hasn't stopped US-based developer NetDevil from setting its upcoming massively multiplayer online PC game Auto Assault in a post-apocalyptic future seemingly inspired by Mel Gibson's seminal flicks.
The game features plenty of the usual MMOG fare, including customisable characters and the ability to form clans. But there are a number of additions that help set it apart - such as the omnipresent vehicles that you can refit however you want. The cars, bikes, trucks and tanks form an integral part of the game experience and you're not limited to owning just one either.
Auto Assault also lets you play in a number of ways. You can battle against other opponents in the combat arenas; build up a healthy bank balance through trading; fight other factions for territory; or simply complete missions to improve your stats and standing in the game world.
Part of the developers' emphasis, though, is to make sure that you're always having fun. NetDevil has created the game in such a way that you'll progress without having to give up your real life and you'll be able to play through the game without joining up with other players if you don't want to.
Auto Assault is being readied by publisher NCSoft for release on PC sometime in 2005.
