Codemasters Preps TOCA Race Driver 3
More driving styles than you can shake a stick at.
Driving games are everywhere these days, which means that developers need to make their games distinct or get lost in the morass of also-rans. In TOCA Race Driver 3, you won't just drive in one or two types of racing styles - you'll have 35 to choose from.
Everything from go-karts and off-road buggies to modified trucks and Formula One cars is here and you'll be able to tackle it all in either career or arcade modes.
The career modes allow you to choose a driving discipline, off-road for example, and then to progress through the different classes within the discipline. The less time-consuming arcade mode does away with most of the pomp and procession and lets you climb in wherever you want to try out the different cars and racing types.
For TOCA Race Driver 3, the developers at Codemasters have gone back and redone the game engine. Cars will experience a range of wear and tear during races, with realistic damage effects forcing you to give a second thought before you plunge into corners too fast.
TOCA Race Driver 3 is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox at the end of the year. Below are the first screenshots from the game.
