New Handheld Plays Classic NES Games
And it lets you play Japanese and American carts too.
Many people have chastised Nintendo and other publishers for treating Nintendo handhelds as sinkholes for conversions of old games - something the Game Boy Advance NES Classics line of mid-1980s games does little to disprove. But these games do appeal to a growing group of retro-gamers. UK-based distributor Fire International has taken the idea to the next level, announcing a new handheld designed to play old NES cartridges directly.
The Blaze Pocket Fami is a new portable games machine that features a 2.5" LCD screen and a combination of regular and rapid-fire buttons. The handheld accepts classic NES cartridges from Europe and an adaptor that allows Japanese and American games to be played too - perfect for retro-game importers.
The handheld, which has two NES controller ports, can also be hooked straight up to a television.
The Blaze Pocket Fami is available right now and can be purchased online from Xploder.
