ELSPA's Game Zone Live Cancelled
That overly packed summer game show line-up is suddenly starting to look a lot emptier.
After the success of Game Stars Live last September, many were hoping that this year's renamed Game Zone Live would give gamers and the public at large an even better taste of the current gaming landscape. Those hopes were dashed this week when the ELSPA announced that it has pulled the plug on the upcoming show.
While several publishers had already signed up for Game Zone Live, the organisers could not secure some of the bigger players, including Sony, Microsoft and EA.
ELSPA is facing stiff competition in the form of the new State of Play event, which is also open to the public. Microsoft and several other leading publishers have already signed on for State of Play, which takes place in Birmingham this October.
All is not lost though. ELSPA has confirmed that it is still planning to go ahead with EGN, the more business-oriented of ELSPA's show offerings.
