Burnout Takes Revenge on Traffic
Smashing into traffic might not be the best way to deal with road rage, but it's definitely the most fun.
You'll never forget the first time you knocked an opponent into a barrier and sent him flying across the screen as a slow-mo symphony of destruction strangled the blood out of your eyeballs. Burnout 3: Takedown took automotive carnage to the next level and EA is betting that you'll want to return to the speeding chaos for another go.
For months, the sequel to the best-selling game has been known simply as Burnout 4 but that has finally been expanded. EA today revealed the game's final title as Burnout: Revenge and hinted at aspects of the award-winning gameplay that have been tweaked.
The majority of the game modes return, but the developers at Criterion have added new ones too, such as Revenge mode, in which you race against the clock and smash your way through oncoming rush-hour traffic.
EA is set to officially pull back the covers on Burnout: Revenge at E3 in Los Angeles next month. The game is set for release on Xbox and PlayStation 2 later this year. A version for Xbox 360 is also a dead cert.
