Crash Tags Friends for New Racer
It's Crash doing mascot-themed racing again, but with new "clashing" technology.
If racing in impossible cars driven by colourful characters just isn't cutting it for you any more, perhaps Crash Tag Team Racing is what you're looking for. The now-played-out concept of mascot-driven racing is given a fresh twist by allowing you to, in developer Radical Entertainment's words, fuse two cars together on the fly to form a super vehicle with the all-new "clashing" technology.
Once cars have been 'clashed' you're given the option of either taking the wheel to steer to victory or manning the turret gun to blast opponents into smithereens - not too dissimilar from Mario Kart Double Dash!! then.
And while with most racing games are done once you've crossed the finish line, in Crash Tag Team Racing you can explore the game's cartoon-like world to gather upgrades for your vehicles and to unlock tracks and other in-game items. There's even a full backstory holding the whole thing together.
Games such as this are designed with multiplayer in mind, so it's no surprise to see 8-player support on consoles, while the DS version will allow up to four people to play wirelessly.
Crash Tag Team Racing will be released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and DS this autumn.
