Fourth Potter Book Gets Game Treatment
First screens and artwork for EA's adaptation of this year's Harry Potter film.
If you've been into a bookstore lately, you'll have noticed that Pottermania is brewing once more as the release of the sixth book draws ever nearer. EA is taking advantage of this magical atmosphere to spread the word about its own upcoming Potter tie-in - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The game is based on the film adaptation of the fourth part of author JK Rowling's stupendously popular series and sees you play as Harry, Hermione and Ron to relive the best moments from the darker-toned book. The story is centred on Harry as he battles with other exceptional challengers from the wizarding world for the Triwizard Cup. Harry's nemesis, Lord Voldemort, makes an appearance too.
The developers at EA's UK studio - the same team behind several previous Harry Potter games - have tried to recreate the key moments from the movie in as interactive a form as possible. Battling evil is hard work, though, which is why you'll be able to team up with other players to tackle the story co-operatively.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and PSP in November 2005.
