Dixons Guesses at PSP Launch Details
Sony's still (!) not saying anything, but another retailer has weighed in with its predicted date and price for the PSP's release.
No one knows precisely when the PSP will arrive in Europe, but that isn't stopping shops from getting in early on the action. Amazon.co.uk has been taking pre-orders for the PSP for months and now UK electronics chain Dixons has entered the fray. The company is accepting pre-orders for the PSP through both its stores and its online site at a price point of £179 and with a predicted release date of August 1st.
In the absence of any information from Sony, many have turned to retailers to get an idea of the PSP release schedule, in the vain hope that they know something the rest of us don't. Dixons' latest move does gel with the latest industry rumblings, but all signs point to this being a best guess on the part of the company.
Officially, there are still no launch plans for the PSP in the UK or Europe. The handheld will be going on sale in limited quantities in South Korea in early May, but all other PSPs are currently bound for Japan and America to satisfy demand in those regions.
