Call of Duty 2 Detailed and Displayed
First screens and details for Activision's World War II-themed PC shooter sequel.
War may be hell but it's also a major source of inspiration for game designers these days. Activision is building on the success of last year's World War II shooter Call of Duty with a sequel that features a brand new graphics engine and more choice in gameplay.
Call of Duty 2 is once again set during World War II and follows the paths of four soldiers through the punishing ordeal. You can play straight through the game, taking on historically accurate battles in chronological order, or you can follow the path of each of the four young warriors to live their experiences in the war.
The developers at Infinity Ward have opened up the gameplay to allow multiple objectives in missions and more than one way to make it out of each mission alive. Squads are able to use a wider array of military strategies, taking advantage of terrain and enemy weak spots. You'll have to keep an eye on the skies, though, as the new realistic weather effects can quickly turn manageable situations ugly.
Call of Duty 2 will be released for PC this autumn.
