Stargate Opening This Autumn
Watery wormholes at the ready to whisk you away on an adventure worthy of the TV show. First screens.
In 1994 a movie came out that proposed that the pyramids in Egypt were in fact not Egyptian at all but rather relics left by an alien race. Stargate was popular enough to spawn a long-running TV series, Stargate: SG-1, which in turn has birthed its own game - Stargate SG-1: The Alliance.
Fans of the show will feel right at home in Stargate SG-1: The Alliance, which picks up the story after the Threads episode at the end of season eight. The game juts off with its own plotline that doesn't presuppose too much, so newcomers will be able to follow along too.
Stargate SG-1: The Alliance is a first-person shooter - designed using the Unreal engine - with an emphasis on teamwork. One of the advantages of using the Unreal engine is that it's well established in the mod-community, meaning that players will be able to take the game apart and create offshoots of their own.
Stargate SG-1: The Alliance will be out for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox this autumn. You can find out more about the game by visiting the official site.
