To Bond Fans With Love
First screens for EA's new Bond game. And yes, the jetpack is in the game.
Usually, turning a 42 year old movie starring a man who's now 74 years old into a video game would make for a rather dull experience, but when that movie is From Russia With Love and the man in question is the inimitable Sean Connery, things get a bit more interesting.
EA is hard at work on the remake of the second Bond flick ahead of its expected release later this year. The main scenes from the film are there, but the developers have also come up with new scenarios to keep things fresh. The game plays from a third-person perspective and offers action and hijinks on-foot and, using the jetpack from the film, in the air.
Connery, who once said that he'd never again have anything to do with James Bond, brings his trademark accent and looks to the affair. The actor acknowledged video games as "another way to explore the creative process", but we presume EA is offering him more than just artistic freedom for his efforts.
From Russia With Love is in development for GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation 2 and will likely feature prominently at E3 next month.
