Mark Ecko Wants Freedom Through Graffiti
It's a game that combines dystopian visions of the future with graffiti and fighting. We're excited, are you?
If you're like us, when you think of fine urban street gear, you think of graffiti and video games, which is why clothes designer Marc Ecko's new game, Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, makes so much sense.
The story for Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, seven years in the making, carries echoes of Orwell and Hanna Barbera and sees you assume the role of Trane (voiced by hip-hop artist Talib Kweli), a neophyte tagger with aspirations of becoming a graffiti legend. There's just one problem - the city is ruled by a tyrannical overlord, commonly referred to as the mayor, who doesn't take kindly to the rebellious desecration of his pristine city.
Freedom-through-graffiti is the ultimate goal, which you'll achieve by exploiting the fighting and artistic facets of Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. When you're not climbing to precarious ledges to place that perfect tag, you'll be fending off your oppressors with an array of flashy combat moves.
Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is wending its way to PlayStation 2 with a release date some time towards the end of the year. For more on the game, check out the official site.
