Lego Jedi Top the Charts
Even in block form, the Force was enough to topple Rockstar's lifestyle driving game.
Lego and Star Wars have both been around for decades, and their first coming together in video game form is proving a big hit with British gamers.
After opening at the No. 2 spot in its first week on sale, Lego Star Wars has ridden the tidal wave of hype surrounding the impending theatrical release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith to the top of the UK charts, pushing Rockstar's lifestyle driving game Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition down a notch. Two new entries also made it into the top 10: TT Superbikes> for PlayStation 2 underlined the current infatuation with racing games, debuting at No. 5, while Guild Wars, the second massively multiplayer online hit of the year after World of Warcraft, sneaked in at No. 9.
Further down the rankings, Star Fox Assault brought some joy to beleaguered Nintendo, coming in as the best-selling GameCube game for week and entering the all-formats chart in the 23rd position in its opening weekend.
The top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 30 April, as determined by Chart Track, are given below:
