Fable: Lost Chapters - New Screens
The PC port of Molyneux's hit RPG seems to be coming along quite nicely. Latest screens inside.
Life can be seen as an endless array of choices, and it's this central truism around which Lionhead and Big Blue Box built their top-selling Xbox RPG, Fable. After coming out of 2004 as one of the best games of the year, both critically and popularly, Fable is making the jump to PC.
Fable: The Lost Chapters is largely the same game as what appeared on Xbox last October, but there's just more of it. There are more missions, better graphics, more side-quests, more weapons and armour and, yes, more choices to keep you interested. The most noticeable boost right now, though, is in the visuals, thanks to the extra oomph provided by modern gaming PCs.
The game tells the story of a young boy who, after seeing his family killed, is taken away to a guild where he is taught how to fend for himself. What happens after that, however, is completely up to you, as the game allows you to follow either a good or an evil path. Whatever you choose, though, you will leave an indelible mark on the world.
Fable: The Lost Chapters will be released on PC this autumn.
