Anyone for PSP Virtua Tennis?
Sega's beloved tennis game makes the jump to Sony's new portable. First screens.
The ill-fated Dreamcast nurtured several of Sega's best franchises, including the wildly popular Virtua Tennis, which is now going portable for an appearance on the PSP.
Virtua Tennis World Tour, as the PSP version will be known, brings the series' well-honed racquet skills and a host of new features built around the unique capabilities of the hardware.
Using the PSP's wireless network connection you'll be able to play matches with up to three other players. Sega hasn't specified whether this will be available via the Internet or just locally, but presumably it's the latter.
There are several gameplay types on offer, including world tour (play against other pros the world to build up your winnings); exhibition (one-off games); and tournament (play in a full tournament). And once you're done with that, there are still the mini-games to fool around with.
Keeping with the customisation trend running through games at the moment, you'll be able to design your own players, outfit them with items bought with your winnings and then take them out on tour.
Virtua Tennis World Tour for PSP will be released this autumn.
