Microsoft Reveals E3 PC Line-Up
Real-time strategy games look to dominate the company's non-console offerings. First screens for newly announced games included.
With the hubbub surrounding the looming Xbox 360, it's easy to forget that Microsoft is also a publisher of PC games - and a respected one at that. At this year's E3, Microsoft will show off all its latest wares, which include sequels to some of the biggest PC series of the last decade.
Microsoft's E3 line-up is, perhaps predictably, dominated by real-time strategy titles. The biggest games for Microsoft at the show are sequels to the company's most popular recent PC games, Rise of Nations and Age of Empires, both of which bring a wealth of new gameplay options to their familiar styles.
But if micromanagement isn't your bag, Microsoft still has you covered. Game legend Peter Molyneux's RPG Fable, which won the hearts of critics and gamers alike last year on Xbox, is coming to PC later this year.
Below is Microsoft's line-up of PC games confirmed to be on display at E3 next week:
- Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends: sequel to 2003's hit RTS game
- Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species: picking up poo made fun
- Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: new fantasy-themed MMORPG
- Age of Empires III: return of Microsoft's hit RTS series
- Dungeon Siege II: sequel to the popular fantasy RPG hit
- Fable: The Lost Chapters: choose good or evil - it's your choice
Kikizo will be reporting live from the E3 show floor, so join us next week for all the impressions, interviews and media you don't even know you want yet.
