E3: Eat People in Jaws Unleashed
Sigh, another movie tie-in is headed our way. But this one lets you play as a shark! First screens.
Nature shows and tabloid news stories have taught us to respect the Great White as nature's eating machine. But have you ever wondered what it's like to be the great fish? If so, then you'll want to keep an eye on Jaws Unleashed, a new game from Majesco that lets you live the savage life of Steven Spielberg's finned movie star.
Playing from the beady-eyed perspective of Jaws, you recreate scenes from the classic movie '70s movie Jaws, culling the weak from the beachgoers around the sea-front town of Amity while shark hunter Ruddock and marine biologist Brody do their best to slow you down.
The game lets you, in Majesco's words, unleash real-time damage on intelligent enemies (that would be people) while performing various underwater, surface (!) and air (!!) attacks using the game's combat system.
Think of it as Ecco the Dolphin (fitting, since both games were made by developer Appaloosa Interactive) with teeth. Jaws Unleashed is set for release on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 towards the end of the year.
