A Generation of Chaos on PSP
Popular Japanese sRPG series brings 60-man battles to Sony's handheld. First screens.
It's not quite chess, but strategy RPGs do bring many of the same elements to video games, albeit with considerably more fanfare, and usually elves too. And soon you'll be able to while away those long hours on the train with Japanese developer Idea Factory's new PSP title Generation of Chaos.
The game builds on the rich history of the series in Japan and moves mobile warfare up a notch. You'll be able to command 30-man armies in massive, real-time battles. Of course, this being a strategy RPG, you'll be able to customise your warriors to your heart's content as you grow your kingdom.
Territorial expansion is the name of the game, and how you proceed through the story is determined by how you align yourself with your neighbouring fiefdoms.
Generation of Chaos marks the series' first appearance in the West. The game has not yet been confirmed for release in Europe, but travellers may want to have a look for it when it's released in North American next spring.
