Far Cry Instincts - New Screens
Ubisoft's PC shooter conversion looks to be coming along very nicely indeed.
Hawaiian-shirted Jack Carver didn't expect trouble when he arrived on the island that plays host to Ubisoft's console shooter Far Cry: Instincts, but trouble is what he got. Now, faced with an army of attackers, Carver must use his wits, weapons, vehicles and the jungle that covers the verdant island itself to thwart his would-be captors.
Apart from the gorgeous visuals, the trap mechanics and Carver's new skill-through-evolution abilities, this update to last year's well-received PC shooter brings an array of new weaponry and vehicles.
From the lowly butterfly knife you start out with to the genre-favourite long-distance recon and sniper rifle, the new weapons add another layer of polish to Far Cry: Instincts already dazzling sheen.
The constraints of the true-to-life weapons and vehicles that populate the game are countered by the freedom you have in gameplay and the variety of the multiplayer modes. The developers have included a map-editor for multiplayer, allowing you to draw up new locales to battle away for months after the stock settings have worn out their welcome.
Far Cry: Instincts will be out for Xbox this September.
