Guitar Hero Set to Rock the PS2
New rocktastic game from the creators of Amplitude and Frequency. First screens and details.
Do you want to rock? For many, this is a question that reaches down to the core of their very being, and if the answer is affirmative, Red Octane has the game for you.
Guitar Hero is the latest game from Amplitude and Frequency developer Harmonix and brings the rhythmic stylings of its previous games to the hard rock arena.
Armed with a special guitar-shaped controller, you play along to covers of classic and modern rock tracks by following onscreen prompts. The game uses an interface seemingly borrowed from Harmonix's previous games and adds an aura of old-school hair metal for good measure.
As with all music games, Guitar Hero will live and die by its track listing. While the original artists have not been used, cover versions lay the foundation upon which you can slather thick helpings of guitar rocking.
Below is a partial list of songs covered in Guitar Hero:
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground
- Boston - More Than A Feeling
- Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction
- The Donnas - Take It Off
- Jimi Hendrix - Spanish Castle Magic
- ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man
