Pokémon Still Dominating Stateside
It seems that much like cockroaches, nothing short of the Apocalypse is going to bring these critters down.
If there were any doubts that the nine-year-old Pokémon franchise remains a cutesy-faced behemoth they were put to rest with the recent sales figures announcement from the US.
Pokémon Emerald, the latest offering for Game Boy Advance, sold just under 900,000 copies during its debut month, according to analyst firm NPD Funworld. This adds yet more to Nintendo's colourful pile, which already stands 4.5 million high thanks to the excellent performance of Pokémon LeafGreen and Pokémon FireRed.
Ardent fans on this side of the Atlantic sadly still have a wait ahead of them. Pokémon Emerald will only be out in the UK this October.
