Possession Lets You Be the Zombie
First screens and details for the next-gen zombie thriller that sees you command the undead.
While offing zombies has long been a staple of videogames, few have allowed you to control the undead and guide them along the path to brain-munching victory, but that's exactly the thrill that awaits in next-gen horror-fest Possession.
Developed by Fusion Frenzy developer Blitz Games, Possession is a next generation title that sees you assume the role of a brainy zombie called The Enslaver. Using simple squad commands, you'll send out your moaning zombie army to grow your horde of undead bigger and bigger.
The game is large in scope as well as scale and plays out in a city a bit bigger than that of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The important concept to realize, though, is that this is not a survival horror game. Here you are the horror and you'll need to use your wits if you want to overcome the enemies - that would be normal, non-brain-eating humans.
"The player is the architect of this zombie holocaust," Nick Dixon, a lead designer on the game, told IGN. "You command and possess hundreds of zombies, and turn a living, breathing city into a place fit only for the dead."
Possession is set for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2007.
