Pokémon DS Arrives Late With New Stuff
Nintendo's cuddly juggernaut won't be hitting the dual-screen handheld this year.
The Pokémon games have been perennial best-sellers on Nintendo's past handhelds and the upcoming Pokémon Pearl and Pokémon Diamond are expected to do similarly well on DS. But don't get too excited just yet.
Nintendo has confirmed that the release date for the upcoming games has slipped a bit.
Pokémon Pearl and Diamond were originally slated for release in Japan later this year, but now gamers worldwide are going to have to wait until 2006 to get to grips with the cuddly characters, IGN is reporting.
Nintendo is planning big things for the DS instalments in the popular series. The biggest change to the games is the inclusion of wireless multiplayer, which reports suggest will allow up to 16 people to play together.
No new characters are expected, buy you will be able to combine them in new ways, and they will also have new powers.
But fear not, Pokémon fans - the critters will be showing up on GameCube this November in new RPG Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.
