Special Forces for Battlefield 2
EA's latest expansion packs some covert spice to the Battlefield curry.
After making the jump from World War II to the modern day, EA's Battlefield 2 is ready for its next shift in the expansion Battlefield 2: Special Forces.
As the name suggests, this time the game is all about playing as Special Forces operatives from six distinct groups: Navy SEALs, British SAS, Russian Spetznas, MEC Special Forces, Rebel groups and insurgents.
The thematic shift brings a few changes to the game. The major additions are the weapons, gadgets and vehicles that accurately capture the thrill of being a Special Forces soldier.
These additions, however, come at the expense of smaller multiplayer skirmishes, which have been cut down from supporting more than 100 players in Battlefield 2 to 64 players in Battlefield 2: Special Forces.
Battlefield 2: Special Forces will be out for PC this winter. For more information, visit EA's official Battlefield homepage.
