Portable PES Being Dispensed
Sony's handheld picks up Konami's popular realism- focussed football series. First screens.
If waiting for the next instalment in Konami's vaunted Pro Evolution Soccer game has you climbing the walls, perhaps you'd like to fantasize about playing the upcoming portable version.
Come this autumn, you'll be able to partake in all the footie shenanigans contained within Pro Evolution Soccer 5 from the comfort of your own palm as the game makes the short jump from PlayStation 2 to PSP.
But, you say to yourself, I don't want a cut-down version of the game with fewer club and international sides. Fear not. Konami has given reassurances that the PSP version will be "almost identical" to its bigger PlayStation 2 brother in this regard.
Perhaps the biggest addition found during translation is the inclusion of wireless multiplayer for the PSP iteration. Now instead of squashing on the couch next to your adversary you'll be able to tackle him from across the room (but not, sadly, from across the world).
Another big plus for the PSP version is its ability to hook up with the PlayStation 2 version, in something similar to Nintendo's touted-but-underutilised "connectivity". You'll be able to transfer custom teams from PlayStation 2 to PSP or between PSPs.
Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will be out for PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox and now PSP this autumn.
